From the 20th of July untill the
27th I was in Korea. First for the memorial of the 60 year of
the ending of the Korean war and the ceremonial services .ans
second for the initiation of the first Korean dojos into the IBK. K.Y HONG has several dojos in Seoul and wants to be Dai Shihan for Korea to promote IBK .espescial in MMA and Kyokushin. The hospitality was like always in Asia first class and the dinners in the oldfashioned typical Korean barbecue restaurants reminded me of the old times and brought me back in memories. We talked much and after seeing his students and the figthingspirit which was first class Hong became the first Korean to be 6th dan in the IBK. Seeing Korea again after last time 28 years ago it was a trmedous change from the devestated mudhole we entered in 1950 Seoul can now compete with the best cities in the world and it makes me very proud that I had a tiny bit to do with that after 371 combat days three times wounded in two years and recieving the highest award from the special forces 11 oct 1952 for rescuing wounded soldiers during their attack left of our outpost that night together with my lifelong friend Hans Crebas, who also got the award. The ceremonies was emotional and the intervieuw with the TV was good. Also for Shihan Hong their where several intevieuws for sport magazines and TV. All by all a very good week.

last years. He is a first class trainer.
