The 22rd of Jan 2010 was the change of command for the Navy and Marines in the Netherlands.
Our Honor Member Lt General Rob Zuiderwyk gave his command over to vice Admiral Mathieu Borsboom. Rob goes after that to Sweden where he has a nice farm to retire to.
We wish him all the happiness and luck together with his wife Bonnie and the rest of the family.
We sincerely thank him for his friendship and help to the IBK and the making of the Marine Jon Bluming Dojo in Boothcamp Doorn. We sure shall mis him.

The change was at the Navy basis Den Helder and YES it was freaking cold but an good old fashioned show with the whole brass attending.
During the party afterwards on the ship Johan de Wit everybody could wish Rob well and gave presents.
When I talked to many old friends  their was somebody who called me Jon, Jon, and I turned around it was The Chief  Joint of Staff the General of the whole Dutch Armed Forces General  Peter van UHM  who years ago was the CMDT of the Dutch special forces in Roosendaal. And we had a nice talk about the old days. All by all it was a hell of a nice day.
